Social responsibility projects developed by students within the scope of the Social Responsibility course conducted in our faculty have been successfully implemented. The projects aim to increase social sensitivity, develop a sense of volunteerism, and produce solutions to social problems; they were carried out in various fields, from awareness-raising activities for individuals with disabilities to environmental cleaning, and from support activities for street animals to solidarity practices.
Within the scope of the Disabled Week, a project called "Change Places for a Minute, Make a Difference for a Lifetime" was implemented, where a awareness stand was set up by students. Participants at the stand engaged in activities such as lip-reading exercises to understand the communication experience of individuals with hearing impairments, a one-handed shirt-wearing application, orientation activities using eye masks, color blindness experiences, and a wheelchair obstacle course. The aim of these activities was to enable individuals to empathize by experiencing the difficulties faced by individuals with disabilities in daily life.
In the "Life to Paws" project, which aims to draw attention to the living conditions of street animals, a collaboration was established with 75th Year Primary School. In the project, cat houses were designed and produced using recycled materials together with kindergarten students. This work contributed to both the development of environmental awareness and the increase of animal love and social responsibility awareness in children.
Within the scope of the "A Bowl of Hope" project, cat food was prepared in small packages with messages promoting animal love and the culture of sharing written on them. The prepared packages were distributed to raise awareness among more people about feeding street animals and to encourage active participation in this process.
In the "Hygiene on Hold" project, which aims to strengthen social solidarity, support baskets containing basic hygiene products were placed in women's restrooms. The application, carried out with the understanding of “Take if you need, add if you can,” aimed to facilitate students' access to products they may need and to promote the culture of sharing.
As part of the "Bucak National Park Cleaning and Awareness Project" aimed at increasing environmental sensitivity, a cleaning activity was carried out by students. Approximately 20 bags of waste were collected during the event, contributing to environmental cleaning and raising awareness about environmental pollution.
In the "Cat House Project," which aims to support the shelter needs of street animals, a cat house was provided, and protective arrangements were made against outdoor conditions. The cat house, placed in a suitable location, was made available for the use of street animals.
The projects developed and implemented by students contributed to strengthening social responsibility awareness, increasing social sensitivity, and promoting a culture of volunteerism. By transferring the theoretical knowledge gained in the course into practice, students had the opportunity to gain significant experience in producing solutions to social problems and creating social benefits.
